Indraprastha Vishva Hindu Parishad and Hindu Parva Samanvaya Samiti along with some other religious, cultural, social and educational organisations of Delhi organised a grand procession on Ramnavami Day, April 3. More than 201 tableaux and bhajan mandalis particiapted in the procession. Tableaux of Sri Ram showing crushing the demons were worth watching. Officebearers of different organisations were seen with saffron turbans in open jeeps followed by well-decorated 21 horses and 51 odd bikes with band parties playing Sri Ramdhun.

Mayor of Delhi Smt Arti Mehra, vice president of VHP Shri Om Prakash Singhal, chairman of Hindu Parva Samanvaya Samiti Swami Raghwanand and chairman of Sanatan Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha Shri Manohar Lal Kumar lighted the traditional lamp to inaugurate the procession. Speaking on the occasion, Smt Arti Mehra said Bharat is a spiritual country. The whole life of Sri Ram was devoted to mankind. It is very unfortunate that the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya is being questioned in the land where everybody worships Him. The teachings of the Ramayana are not for any particular caste, creed or religion but for the entire humanity. The yatra started at 2.30 pm from Ramlila Grounds and culminated at Gangeshwar Dham, Karol Bagh. Thousands of people gathered at various places to welcome the yatra.
