Rashtriya Sevika Samiti urged the President Smt. Pratibha Patil to enact a national policy to fight against terrorism and the security forces should be equipped with sophisticated weapons and technology. In a memorandum presented to the President on December 3, the Samiti said the stern laws, like POTA, must be enacted in all the states and fast action should be taken against the arrested terrorists. The memorandum appealed that the surrendered terrorists should not be recruited in army or other security forces. The memorandum cited the terrorist incidents for the last six months, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent people. ?The terrorist activities of last six months indicate that the gap between one terrorist incident to the other has reduced and the number of the victims is increasing in each incident. Every person of the country is feeling insecure and the government must take concrete steps to remove the apprehension,? the memorandum said.
