Baldev Bhai Sharma is new Panchjanya editor

Senior Hindi journalist Shri Baldev Bhai Sharma has joined as the new editor of the leading Hindi weekly Panchjanya on August 14. He replaced Shri Tarun Vijay who is now director of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Sewa Nyas.

Born on October 6, 1955, Shri Sharma has worked as resident editor of Swadesh (Raipur), Dainik Bhaskar (Panipat) and Amar Ujala (Haryana edition). He basically launched all these editions of these newspapers.

Shri Sharma had joined Swadesh (Gwalior) as a sub-editor in 1980 and rose to become an assistant editor there. He then launched the Raipur edition of Swadesh in 1989 as resident editor. He then shifted to New Delhi as executive editor of Nutan Prithvi, a fortnightly, in 1995. Later in 1996 he joined Panchjanya in 1996 as assistant editor.

After leaving Panchjanya in 1999 he launched the Panipat edition of Dainik Bhaskar as resident editor. In 2001, he went to Benaras and launched the Benaras edition of Amar Ujala. He joined Noida Headquarters of Amar Ujala in 2002 and looked after the Haryana edition of the newspaper.

Before joining Panchjanya Shri Sharma was a Visiting Professor at Noida Campus of Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya.
