Maharashtra Government honours Madhav Netra Pedhi

The Public Health Department of Maharashtra Government has honoured Madhav Netra Pedhi for its outstanding contribution in encouraging eye donation and curing eye disease under national blindness eradication programme. The Pedhi was presented a memento and certificate to this effect at a function organised on the birth anniversary of Dr Bhalchandra who had set a record by conducting more than 80,000 eye surgeries. Public Health and Family Welfare Minister of the state, Dr Vimlatai Mundara presented the memento and certificate at the function held in Mumbai on June 10. Shri Vijay Naik, Vice President of Nagpur and Shri Jayant Chaudhai, secretary of the Pedhi jointly received the Samman.
