Prof. Rajiv Ranjan of Sampoornanand Samskrit University flagged off a procession in Varanasi on June 13 to propagate the Samskrit language. The procession was organised by the participants of a training camp organised by Samskrit Bharati, Kashi Prant. The procession began from Siddhagiri Bagh and moving through Kamachha and Sigra areas culminated at the same place from where it had begun. Shouting slogans like Jayatu Samskritam, jayatu Bharatam, pathatu Samskritam, vadatu Samskritam, etc. the processionists turned the entire atmosphere pro-Sanskrit.

Dr Sanjiv, Kshetra organising secretary of Samskrit Bharati said those who believe that the number of the Samskrit speaking people is very less should know that more than 40,000 teachers have been trained by Samskrit Bharati alone during the 25 years. More than 3000 families in the country speak Samskrit and there are four villages including Modhak and Jhiri of Madhya Pradesh, Mutturu and Hosahalli of Karanataka, in the country where everybody speaks Samskrit.

Meanwhile, noted Bhojpuri film actor and playback singer Shri Manoj Tewari visited the training camp and donated Rs. 25,000. He not only expressed willingness to learn Sanskrit, but also said to produce a film in Samskrit. A total of 122 students participated in the camp and twenty two of them resolved to fully dedicate two years of their life for the propagation of Samskrit.
