Senior BJP leader and NDA'sPrime Minister candidate Shri L.K. Advani released an audio cassette on price rise in New Delhi on May 12, 2008. The cassette, prepared by the Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, highlights the burgeoning price rise and failures of the Congress Government of Delhi led by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

In his message, BJP national president Shri Rajnath Singh appealed to Delhiites to uproot the Congress Government from Delhi in the forthcoming elections. He said, ?Whenever the Congress came to power the prices went up. If we go through the political history of last four years we see the chain of price rise began with the reign of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre. The government is giving different logics for the price rise. I ask the present rulers if the NDA Government, led by Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, could succeed in putting a check on price rise for continuous six years than why the UPA has failed. People should ask this question to UPA,? he added.

Prof. Jagdish Mukhi said the prices are at peak only due to the wrong economic policies and large-scale corruption in Delhi and Central Governments. ?The prices of foodgrains, pulses, vegetables and steel are touching skies. Electricity bills and water bills have been inflated up to 250 per cent and 500 per cent respectively. It has become very difficult for Aam Adami to arrange for two meals for his family. Delhi Government is known as government of scams today. The biggest scam of north India worth Rs. 12,500 crore was committed during the privatisation of electricity in Delhi. During its 9.5 years? tenure, the Delhi Government made so many promises with Delhiites, which proved to be bundles of false assurances in the end,? he said appealing to the people of Delhi to uproot the Congress from Delhi.

Shri Uday Bharati compiled the songs and music was composed by Shri Chander Kamal. The songs have been sung by Charvi Virmani, Sanjeev Verma and Sandeep Kapoor.
