First Bhanu Pratap Shukla Smriti Samman, jointly sponsored by Rashtra Dharma and Hindusthan Samachar, was presented to Dr Shankar Sharan, a noted Hindi columnist, and Dr Narendra Dev Shastri, a reputed Asamiya columnist in Lucknow on April 6. Senior Hindi columnist and former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Rajnath Singh ?Surya? presided over the function. Shri Anand Mishra ?Abhaya?, editor of Rashtra Dharma, Dr Dinesh Sharma, Mayor of Lucknow, Shri Prakash Baitala, sponsor of Pt. Vachanesh Tripathi Memorial Lecture, were also present on the occasion.

Delivering the first Pt. Vachanesh Tripathy memorial lecture on the occasion Dr Kuldip Agnihotri, convenor of Bharat-Tibat Sahayog Manch, said Tibet was never a part of China. ?Pandit Nehru committed a blunder by recognising Tibet as part of China and this recognition converted the whole Himalayan border with Tibet as a disputed area. By invading Tibet, China occupied the roof of the world and the security of India is faced with a major threat,? he said in Lucknow on April 6. He insisted that the Government of India should review its Tibet Policy and instead of appeasing the Chinese government it should help the Tibetans in securing independence.
