Namaste!

You may be aware that Adiyodi Vakeel Smaraka Tagore Vidyapeetam, a Vidya Bharati school at Thalassery, Kannur Dist, Kerala, was ransacked and vandalised by CPI [M] cadres on January 27, 2008. This Vidya Bharati school, in memory of former Prant Sanghachalak Swargeeya Gopalan Adiyodi Vakeel, was being developed into an educational complex of excellence in North Malabar with the able support of the local community. Computer lab, science lab, furniture, water coolers, plumbing, electrification etc.. have been destroyed and now only the four walls remain. The loss due to the devastation is estimated at Rs. 20 lakh. In addition, we have to build a protection wall costing Rs. 15 lakh and we have to repay loans to banks/financial institutions to the tune of Rs. 75 lakh. Restoration work has started.

We appeal to you and your friends/relatives to donate generously to restore this centre of excellence to glory. We also request you to expose the vandalism of CPI [M] through print/visual media and internet sites / E-mail groups that you may know. We further appeal to you to inspire companies, mutts, and other well-wishers to donate liberally. Cheques and drafts drawn in favour of ?The Secretary, Adiyodi Vakeel Smaraka Educational Trust, Thalassery? may be sent to
