Establishment of Shivaji Spoorti Kendra

While working as Anantpur Vibhag Pracharak on the advice of the then State Pracharak late Shri Somaiahji, he prepared a plan for establishment of Shivaji Sphoorti Kendra at Srisailam after studying the Gopuram built by Shivaji and particulars of the visit of Shivaji to the hill shrine of Srisailam. With his initiative, Bhumipujan was held by the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Vasantrao Dada Patil on June 23, 1983, the day of coronation of Shivaji on Suddha Trayodashi of Jyestha month. On October 16, 1994, he organised the inauguration of Shivaji Statue by the then RSS chief Shri Rajju Bhayya.

During 2001, he took steps to get 1st floor of Sphoorti Kendra inaugurated by the then Central Ministers Shri Anantkumar and Shri Venkaiah Naidu on October 10, 2001, he got mobile dispensary inaugurated by Shri T.V. Deshmukh, the State Sanghachalak. Various historical contents, photos pertaining to Shivaji were collected and arranged in the exhibition by Shri Rama Mohana Raoji. Today every piligrim to Srisailam is also visiting Shivaji Sphoorthi Kendra and getting inspired. He also studied the herbal medicines of girijans there and worked for its development.

Right from Schooldays, he developed passion for photography and history and continued to study them. He made a thorough study of historical incidents of second World War. He used to collect various photos of important forts of the country and publish in his Jagruti paper along with history of these forts as special edition. He used to cover current political affairs through his editorial columns. He published the matter pertaining to Ayodhya in a book along with photographs. Even while working as Srikakulam District Pracharak, he examined the naxalite movement closely. After taking over as Jagruti editor, he covered the Naxalite related issues serially in his Jagruti paper.

During Pujya Shri Guruji'scentenary celebrations, he personally supervised the translation and subsequent publishing of book ?Guruji Samagra Grandhavali?. During that time, he conducted a seminar on Guruji'sthoughts. His last attempt as Jagruti editor was to publish a special edition of the Weekly on the eve of 60 years of Indian Independence. Thus, he contributed significantly in the print media. He went on working in social sphere till he breathed his last. Setting aside his personal health problems, he gave lot of importance to social cause and worked in that direction and thus he was a fulfilled soul. Hailing from a family of Sangh supporters, he was a bachelor throughout and left behind two elder brothers and one elder sister and one younger sister.

His last rites were performed at 3-00 P.M. on December 5, 2007. A large number of Sangh functionaries, journalists, leaders from various walks of life participated in the cremation. We pray the Almighty that his soul may rest in peace.  ?T.V. Deshmukh
