RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan has called upon the people of Arunachal Pradesh to thwart any attempt by the Chinese government to capture the parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Addressing a public meeting at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Naharlagun on November 21, he flayed the Centre for showing little attention to the repeated incursions made by the Chinese forces into Tawang and urged the UPA Government to take it seriously lest any misadventure like the 1962 Chinese aggression takes place. Stating that the entire countrymen would stand behind the Arunachalees if the Chinese dared to intrude into Arunachal territory, the Sarsanghachalak warned the Center to take notice of even petty incursions along the Sino-Indo border seriously and take it up with the Chinese authorities without wasting time.
Praising the Vanvasi of Arunachal Pradesh for setting an example of unity in diversity, he exhorted them to protect their rich traditional cultural ethos against any outside influence through the means of allurement. ?When our own indigenous culture is so rich, why go after western culture which has very little moral values,? he remarked. Alleging that the western culture is promoting hatred in the society, he cited few examples of violence torn countries, which had been brought under western influence. The inner line permit has acted as an obstacle for alien culture taking roots in Arunachal Pradesh ever since the NEFA days, he said adding that Donyi Polism, Intayism, Rang Frahism and Buddhism have stood the test of time against the onslaught of westernised culture due to the unity shown by the people for preserving their indigenous identity. None should be allowed to disturb this unique traditional cultural ethos of indigenous Arunachal Vanvasis, Shri Sudarshan said while calling upon the youths to take up the mantle of protecting their identity. He further reminded the people of Arunachal Pradesh that all are sons of Bharatmata irrespective of faith, culture and religion.
Arunachal Vikas Parishad president Shri Nabam Atum speaking on the occasion dwelt on the ideology of RSS for promoting national integration and unity among the countrymen. Citing similarity with the RSS ideology and the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Aurnachal Pradesh (IFCSAP), he said it was duty of all Arunachalees to protect their respective identity. He further regretted that misconception and rumours were being spread against the RSS by vested interests only to suit their ulterior motives and called upon the Vanvasi communities to thwart any attempt to spread such false propaganda and preserve peace and tranquility among different Vanvasi communities. Shri Atum further lamented that the repeated Chinese incursions into Arunachal Pradesh were not being seriously dealt by the Central leaders.
Earlier, Shri Nido Sakter, Nagar Karyavah, informed that training camps were held at Seppa, Ziro and Pasighat to create awareness among the people. Arunachal Vibhag Sanghachalak Shri Nani Tatu speaking on the occasion said that huge number of workers attended the training camp organised during the visit of Sarsanghachalak. Meanwhile, a book, Nurturing the Roots, written by the late Nani Tachag and Vijay Swami published by Sewa Bharati on the birth centenary of Shri Guruji, was also released by Shri Sudarshan. Earlier, the IFCSAP president Shri Nabam Atum, former BJP presidents Taba Hare and Tamiyo Taga presented traditional artifacts Pogo hiba and Gyilwi to the Sarsanghachalak as a token of love on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier the swayamsevaks took out a pathsanchalan in the main thoroughfare of the town.
Shri Sudarsan who is the first Sarsanghachalak visiting Arunachal Pradesh was accorded warm reception at Banderdewa check gate by cultural trope on his three-day visit to the state capital Itanagar on November 20. Later, he addressed the on going three-day workers training camp at Pachin Colony, Naharlagun where the villagers accorded him rousing welcome with cheers and enthusiasm.
The preparations for the Sarsanghachalak'sthree-day visit had begun three months back. For this event a weeklong training camp for ghoshvadaks was also organised in September in which 42 swayamsevaks participated. In October, the swayamsevaks prepared for the main function at shakhas. On November 19, a workers training camp began in which 169 workers participated. Kshetra Pracharak Shri Krishangopal, Kshetra Sharirik Pramukh Shri Gaurishankar Chakravorty, Prant Pracharak Shri Vashisth Bejurbarua and Prant Karyavah Shri Kumud Barthakur were also present at the camp. Shri Sudarshan spoke to workers in three sessions at the camp. He also interacted with the local student organisations, activists engaged in rural development work and distinguished people of the local society.
