Annual function of Poorvanchal Kalyan Ashram

The 27th annual function of Poorvanchal Kalyan Ashram'sKolkata-Howrah unit was held at Kalamandir in Kolkata recently. During the last 53 years the Poorvanchal Kalyan Ashram has raised the feeling of self-respect among the Vanvasis through its various schools, dispensaries, Satsangh Kendras and various other projects.

Speaking at the function as chief speaker, Ma Kankeshwari Devi of Padhari Neelkanth Ashram, Morvi (Ahmedabad) said Indian philosophy is the Sanatan Darshan, which is like the anchal of a mother that always thinks about the world welfare. This is the reason the religious incarnations have taken place in India. She said the Indian philosophy has the strength to take the whole society with it. She called upon the gathering to serve the society with dedication. Praising the Kalyan Ashram work in Kolkata, she said the organisation is working for protecting the cultural values. Therefore need of the hour is that we all should join hands with it.

Noted industrialist Shri Shyam Sunder Shah presided over the function. Shri Ramesh Nangalia, industrialist and social worker, was the chief guest. Shri Kripa Prasad Singh, joint general secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Kalyan Ashram also attended the function. The activists of Poorvanchal Ashram and Sanskar Bharati presented a play-Karmayogi Ka Ahavaan-based on the life of Shri Guruji.  (FOC)
