As part of Shri Guruji birth centenary celebration, the RSS has been organising taluka level conferences, community leaders? meets, intellectuals? meet, college students? meet, seminars and cultural events across the country. The response reveals how anti-RSS propaganda by media has completely failed to impress people at large, who accept the RSS without any prejudice.

Shri Sammikannu Nattar, leader of the Parvatharaja community, is a close associate of DK and DMK in Villupuram. He reluctantly attended a meet of community leaders organised by RSS. He was so overwhelmed by the ambience of dignity, discipline and brotherhood of swayamsevaks in the function that he invited them to visit all his educational institutions to impart value education and knowledge on nationalism to the students.

Similarly, Shri Dayanidhi, who presided over a function regarding Shri Guruji birth centenary in Villupuram, was once a staunch DK activist and follower of the atheist Periyar EVR. He and his close friend, the late Vengaimarban, had been working for DK for a long time. Vengaimarban'sson Vengai Tholkappiyan, unlike his father, is a god-fearing person heading a bhajan mandali. Vengai Tholkappiyan, in his speech at the function, said that his father and Shri Dayanidhi were close friends and both had quit DK in the later stages of their lives. He added that he and Shri Dayanidhi have steadfast faith in god and they were happy in serving god.

Swayamsevaks of Achirupakkam, Chengalppattu district approached several community leaders while organising a conference. In one village, a person gladly accepted to feed all the 1,000 delegates at the conference. He arranged the cooking and stayed on in the kitchen helping completion of distribution. Swayamsevaks had a pleasant moment when they learnt that this person had involved families of all castes in temple renovation work in the village by allotting contribution target to each community. It so happened that the contribution target could not be reached by Harijan families; this gentleman saw to it that all other communities make up this shortfall by their additional contributions, thus consoling the Harijan brethren who were sad that they were unable to contribute to the temple renovation in full measure. Obviously, the gentleman found in RSS things he liked most! saamaajik samarasata for instance.
