“The pledge of continuous fight that Maharana Pratap had taken to liberate the country and to protect the Hindu culture needs to be followed today. The best way to pay tribute to such a great personality is that we should become like him,? said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat while unveiling the statue of Rana Pratap at Pt. Pratap Narayan Mishra Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Khiri, Uttar Pradesh. The function was organised by Jan Shiksha Samiti, Avadh Prant.

Shri Bhagwat said, Rana Pratap faced innumerable problems in his life but did not accept the slavery of others. Though there were various other kings at that time who accepted slavery, but Rana Pratap continuously fought. His ancestors later liberated his whole kingdom from the Mughals. ?This is the reason we are all Hindus today. It was because of the inspiration from Rana Pratap that the brave personalities like Shivaji and Guru Govind Singh fought for the nation,? he added.

The Sarkaryavah said only the Hindus in the world wish for welfare of the whole universe. ?We never tried to eliminate others. We need to work for the restoration of truth, non-violence, holiness and public welfare as Rana Patap did with firm determination. Only then our self-respect, identity, liberty and culture will remain intact,? he said further adding that with the joint efforts of the Hindus the attempts of those who are trying to convert innocent people with fraudulent means would be arrested. He said due to the Macaulay system of education we forgot that we are the sons of brave people and our ancestors had gone up to Mexico and Siberia to make them civilised. But we never terrorised them, never eliminated their original identity and also never made them slave. Shri Bhagwat said unlike the schools run by Christian missionaries, the schools run by Vidya Bharati are arising the spirit of self-respect among the students.

Presiding over the function, Naimish Peethadhishwar Swami Devendranand Saraswati praised the decision of installing the statue of Rana Pratap in the school premises. He said the RSS and the Vidya Bharati have been doing a very good job by bringing the followers of Rana Pratap to mainstream. He expressed concern over the exploitation of Vanvasis by certain forces.

Shri Brahmdev Sharma ?Bhaiji?, organising secretary of Vidya Bharati, said followers of Rana Pratap reside in over 84 villages near the Nepal border and Ekal Vidyalayas are being opened among them to save them from the exploitation of Christian missionaries. He said the Vidya Bharati schools have emerged as the centre of strength. He pointed out that a hospital in the name of Madhav Rugna Sewa Kendra would soon be set up in the region.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Swami Nityananda, Dr D.P. Singh, national vice president of Vidya Bharati and Shri Vijay Agrawal, Kshetriya Pramukh of Vidya Bharati were also present on the occasion. Thousands of Vanvasis participated in the function. RSS Kshetra Pracharak Shri Ashok Beri, Kshetra Karyavah Shri Ramkumar and Sah Kshetra Pracharak Shri Rammashis, Avadh Prant Karyavah and Dr Harmesh also participated in the function.  (FOC)
