A condolence meeting was held in Ahmedabad Town Hall on September 17 to pay tribute to the founder-member of VHP, K.K. Shastri who had passed away recently. Acharya Dharmendra described Shastriji as the Srishti Purush of VHP. Shri Dahyabhai Shastri, patron of Gujarat VHP, described him as the worshiper of Indian culture. Mahamandaleshwar Shri Manglananda said Shastriji was a ratna of Bharatmata. Mahamandaleshwar Vishwadevananda described him as the Itihaas Purush and said his whole life was like a laboratory. Nirgun Swami and Swami Shivananda of Swaminarayan sect also paid their tribute. Bhaiyaji Joshi, Sahsarkaryavah of RSS, sent his condolence message. Dr Pravinbhai Togadia, VHP general secretary, said Shastriji was a true guide. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi said he never saw Shastriji getting disappointed over any issue. Shri Ashok Singhal, VHP president, said Shastriji did not know the language of compromise.  (VSK, Gujarat)
