Since 9/11, different countries around the globe have been facing the heat of Islamic terrorism and now it has started to affect the mentality and perception of the people living in those countries. Australia is one such country where the Australians have started thinking seriously about Islam and Muslims as a society. Recently, one such example was seen when a newspaper survey underlined the feelings of Australians. According to a national poll, four in ten Australians believe that Islam is a threat to its way of life. And most people say that the religion treats women as inferior and encourages violence. It was revealed in the McNair Gallup Poll, commissioned by the Sunday Herald Sun. The poll further disclosed that one in three people are more fearful of Muslims since 9/11; 71 per cent say women in Islam are treated as inferior. And only a quarter of the people said they understand Islam well. By Rambler
