EVER since globalisation and the so-called modernity caught our imagination, we are hard-pressed for time even for most essential matters. Parents play a vital role in the growth of their children and they are supposed to spend as much time as possible with their children. However, even in India, well known for its close-knit family system, due to the rush and tumble of life, parents are spending less and less time with their wards ostensibly for the reason that they are busy.

Theodore Roosevelt, even while he was the American President, used to spend so much of time with his children. When once asked by someone why he was spending so much of time with his children, Roosevelt replied: ?If every father is so close to his sons, few boys would seek all their amusement away from home, and fewer fathers and mothers would carry aching hearts.?
