Talent Search Competition By ABVP

As part of the birth centenary of Shri Guruji, the Uttaranchal unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a talent search competition in the state. The topic of the competition was ?The life and works of Shri Guruji in the service of the nation?. The prize distribution function was held at Dakpathar in Dehradun. Speaking at the function Shri Nityanand Swami, the first Chief Minister of Uttaranchal, called upon the new generation to follow the ideals of Shri Guruii, who was a staunch nationalist and impassioned patriot. ?It is essential for the students to know Shri Guruji as a whole so that they can be motivated and inspired for a constructive role in the nation building,? he added.

Vaishali Thakral (Haridwar), Himanshu Bisht (Kotdwar), Sarita (Tehri), Shrijai Singh (Dehradun), Amit Gairola (Vikas Nagar), Sandeep Jaguri (Uttarkashi), Preeti Kandwal (Rishikesh), Deep Shikha (Pauri), Lava Nautiyal (Chamoli), Lalit Mohan Joshi (Pithoragarh), Pankaj Bisht (Almora), Himanshu Joshi (Bageshwar), Sachin Saini (Udham Singh Nagar) and Usha Pandey (Nainital), stood first in their respective districts and received a cash prize of Rs 2100 each. About 8,000 students participated in the competition. Ashish Gusain got the first position in the state and received a prize of Rs 11,000.
