RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan has called for awakening the society by eschewing political and religious differences to make a strong India. He was speaking at a function held to inaugurate the fourth triennial national convention of Sarvapanth Samadar Manch, an affiliate of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, in Ajmer on March 29. He said the politicians are enjoying all benefits by creating differences among the people. ?It is high time the people unitedly opposed this tendency?, he added.
Shri Sudarshan further said certain things need modification as per the changing time. ?They might have been useful at the time when they were formulated. But now they may not be of much use. We need to study the ways of worship of each other to understand each other properly,? he said and added that Prophet Mohammad should be recognised as the social reformer of that time. ?He played various roles in his life and gave a direction to the Arabic society. When a religion is used as a political weapon, most of its qualities do not get expressed. This is what happened with Islam,? he said.
The Sarsanghachalak said when the God decides the birth, He also decides the ancestors. Whichever land we worship and respect as per our way of worship, but we should die for the land where we live. We all should have this feeling in our heart. He said like Allah delivered the verses of the Quran, Lord Krishna also delivered the message of the Gita. Therefore, Krishna may be regarded as one of the Prophets-if not as God-by Muslims, as Prophet Mohammad himself had said that Prophets were sent to every place. Shri Sudarshan said certain things in the society change with the time. Referring to the worldwide infightings among the Muslims, he said nowhere in the world, except India, all the 73 sub-communities of the Muslims live peacefully. Therefore, the Muslims of India can give the message to their brethren residing in other parts of the world that if they can live peacefully in India, why Muslims of Iraq, Iran and Kuwait are fighting.
Maulana Jamir Ahmed Iliyasi, president of All India Imam Organisation, termed the misconceptions being spread about the RSS by some vested interests as a propaganda and said the Sangh and its chief really want to unite the whole country. He further said nobody in India is kafir, as everybody in the county is theist. About the terrorist activities, he said it is absolutely terrorism and not jehad. He emphasised that Sanskrit should be taught in madrasas and non-Muslims should also try to learn about Islam so that misconceptions prevailing today may be removed.
Shri Girish Awasthi, BMS president and Shri Ramanbhai Shah, former BMS president, also spoke on the occasion. The messages of Jain saint Acharya Mahapragya, Sadar Haji Sayed Ghulam Kibaria of Dargah Anjuman Committee, Ajmer, Acharya Kundanji of Valmiki Samaj, Swami Satyamitranand Giri, Swami Hridyanath Maharaj of Sindhi Samaj, etc. were also read out at the convention.
Later, speaking at the concluding ceremony Shri Indresh Kumar, Member, Kendriya Karyakari Mandal of RSS, said nobody belonging to India wants to attack the religious places of any community. But the foreign invaders deliberately could it so that people of the country not live in harmony. He asked why Muslims could not remove the evils of divorce, etc without tampering with their religious scriptures. He said the politics is creating problem in the country and there is a need to identify the friends and foes among ourselves.
Prof. Vasudev Devnani, Minister of State for Education in the Rajasthan government, informed that the Rajasthan government is bringing the Religious Freedom Bill in the forthcoming session of the state assembly. Mufti Sher Mohammad Khan, an Islamic scholar of Jodhpur, said the RSS has identified the real disease of the society and has also started its proper treatment. He further said those who indulge in terrorism in the name of Islam, have nothing to do with Islam, as the religion does not preach such things. Sardar Gurucharan Singh Gill, national president of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, said the ancestors of every Indian are same and everybody should have this feeling.
The national executive of Sarvapanth Samadar Manch was also reconstituted at the convention. Shri C.B. Frenk was elected president and Sardar Lakshman Singh working president. Similarly Shri Alamgir Gauri is the new general secretary. The committee has 34 members. The convention also adopted three resolutions on global terrorism, cow protection and complete ban on cow slaughter.
