Eleventh Dharma Sansad in Prayag
Call to identify and remedy social malaise
FOC

The special session of the 11th Dharma Sansad was organised in Prayag from February 1 to 2. Presenting a draft of the resolutions to be passed at the Dharma Sansad, Dr Pravin Togadia, VHP general secretary, said conspiracies are being hatched to finish the Hindu culture by organising repeated attacks on faith and traditions of 85 crore Hindus. Slamming the government for arresting the free flow of the Ganga in Tehri, Dr Togadia said in this secular country only the temples or mutts are acquired and nobody dares to even touch the mosques and churches. He urged the saints of the country to Hinduise the Indian politics. He said Shri Ram temple would be reconstructed in Ayodhya at any cost and those who are creating problems in this way would be defeated.

The first resolution was brought on the Ganga protection by Sant Gopal Swami. The resolution on autonomy to mutt-mandirs and their protection was presented by Swami Akhileshwaranand. The resolution on Shri Ramjanmabhoomi was brought by Dr Ram Vilas Vedanti, in which the government was urged to hand over the Ramjanmabhommi campus to Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas for reconstruction of Shri Ram temple.

Speaking at the concluding session of the Dharma Sansad, RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan, assured the saints and dharmacharyas that the resolutions passed at the Dharma Sansad would be implemented. Highlighting the glorious history of the country, he said whenever the society became weak, it faced onslaughts. ?The time has come when the entire Hindu society should stand with its full strength,? he said. Shri Sudarshan further said the Sangh has been uniting the Hindus since 1925 and it is the result of its efforts that today Hindus feel proud of their identity. He said the Hindu society would have to become Hanuman and would also have to identify its strength. Only then the evil forces would be defeated.

Shri Ashok Singhal, VHP president, identified five enemies for the Hindu society?Islamic jehad, America, Church and Leftists working with the support of Europe, so-called secular Hindus and the secular media. He called upon Hindus to go to the villages and tell people about these enemies. Sadhvi Ritambhara called upon the Hindus to collect energy. ?If we fail to collect energy today we shall be forced to become refugee in our own country tomorrow,? she warned. About 1500 saints from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh participated in the Dharma Sansad.

During the Magh fair it was perhaps for the first time when the saints refused to take a bath in the polluted flow of the Ganga. Agitated over the arrest of free flow of the Ganga in Tehri the saints had started an agitation much before the fair. But the local administration persuaded them to end the agitation assuring that the free flow of the river would be ensured before the fair. But the administration did not keep its promise, which further agitated the saints and they have again started the agitation.
