Hindu Renaissance – Ways and Means by Ram Gopal & Dr K.V. Paliwal; Hindu Writers? Forum, pp 12, Rs 40.00

This book aims at reviving the Hindu Dharma and nation so as to enable establishment of a Hindu State.

The authors of this book consider the present generation of Hindus as ?slaves? still who have yet to fight for their freedom. Placing the root cause of their downfall at the feet of the Partition of the nation, they say that it all came about because of the sins committed by the Hindus in worshipping false gods – ?a Hindu Gandhi, an orthodox Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and an atheist Hindu-hater Jawaharlal Nehru? – in the hope of getting Independence for the country. In the bargain, ?the Hindus got an anti-Hindu government worse than the erstwhile British Raj?. They sound the bells of alarm by saying that the minority-oriented Indian Constitution and the Muslim appeasement policy of all political parties means death of the Hindu nationalists and they give a clarion call for a mass awakening. In the prevailing scenario, ?nothing tangible can be achieved without a purposeful, concerted all-India Hindu awakening to meet the Islamic threat that is backed by secularists and Marxists.?

They cite the main causes of Hindu defeats at the hands of foreign invaders in the past as absence of a central authority which could prevent fragmentation of the Hindu nation, lack of knowledge of Islamic politics and its jehad, loss of killer instinct and treachery. The authors vehemently point out that in a multi-religious country like India, ?religion and caste distinctions must take a back seat?.

They regret the decline in Hindu population and consistent increase in the Muslim population, particularly in states like Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, etc. They squarely blame the Hindu population essentially for their plight and the state of things today, calling them cowards and stupid, of being Westernised and commercialised, lacking in fighting spirit and Hindu feelings. To combat the undeclared Islamic war, they suggest unity among the non-Muslim nations and deletion of passages from the Quran and the Hadith, which preach religious animosity between Muslims and non-Muslims, i.e. jehad.

Seeing the gradual demise of Hinduism, the authors call out to Hindu Dharamacharyas ?to protect your Dharma?. They further lash out at Gandhi with whom the Hindus were so enchanted ?that they failed to note that he did not believe in the historicity of the very source of their inspiration, namely Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. He wanted Hindu-Muslim unity solely at the cost of Hindus. His message of non-violence was also one sided??

They suggest the formation of an apex Hindu Dharma Sabha ?representing all sects and all varnas from all the four corners of India? to deal with Hindu Dharma, culture, social order, their past, present and future. They propagate entry of all castes into the Hindu fold and put forth the idea of a Hindu State wherein the Hindu activists ?revive their old moral values, imbibe fearlessness, develop a spirit of dedication and self-sacrifice towards the ongoing civilisational war.?
