Countrywide RSS training camps

May and June are the months in which RSS organises its training camps all over the country. The 30-day third-year training camp, known as officers training camp (OTC), is organised in Nagpur every year while the first and second-year camps of 20-day duration are organised at Prant or Kshetra level. This year the third-year OTC began in Nagpur from May 9. Space noted scientist Dr K. Kasturirangan is expected to preside over the concluding ceremony of the third-year camp on June 5. A total of 952 trainees from 38 Prants are participating in the camp.
There are reports of beginning of OTCs in other parts of the country also. Uttar Assam camp has already begun. A total of 143 trainees are participating in the first-year camp while a total of 92 trainees are participating in the second-year camp. The first-year camp of west Andhra Pradesh was organised from May 1 to 21 in which a total of 490 trainees participated.
The first-year camp of east Andhra Pradesh concluded on May 21. There were two camps for the first-year trainees?one at Rajahmundry in which 200 trainees from 169 places participated and the other at Tirupati in which a total of 197 trainees from 101 places participated.
The second-year training camp of east Andhra Pradesh and west Andhra Pradesh was jointly organised at Warangal in which a total of 184 trainees, comprising of 70 from east Andhra Pradesh and 114 from west Andhra Pradesh participated.
Noted scientist, Dr K. Kasturirangan is expected to preside over the concluding ceremony of third-year OTC on June 5.
The first-year training camps of Orissa were organised at two places in which a total of 622 trainees participated. At the Talchet camp, there were 350 trainees while at Jaipur camp there were 272 trainees. At the second-year camp there were 137 trainees in Orissa. At the camps of Mahakaushal Prant, organised in Jabalpur, there are 430 trainees in the first-year camp and 140 in the second-year camp.
At the north Tamil Nadu camp, there are 189 trainees in the first-year camp while 140 trainees are in the second-year camp. In the south Tamil Nadu camp, there are 215 trainees, excluding 12 trainees from Sri Lanka, who are participating in the first-year camp and 72, including one trainee from Malaysia, are participating in the second-year camp.
The first-year camp of Delhi Prant will begin at Mahashya Chunnilal Saraswati Bal Mandir, Harinagar on June 6. The second-year camp of Uttar Kshetra, which includes Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, will be jointly organised in Kurukshetra from May 29. The first and second-year camps of Praudh Swayamsevaks of Uttar Kshetra are scheduled to begin in Delhi from May 30.
