RSS spokesperson, Shri Ram Madhav, has termed the recent developments in Nepal as ?an internal matter of that country?. In a statement issued in New Delhi recently, he said that RSS, however, looked forward to early restoration of democracy so that a representative government of the people could take over the administration from the King. ?The alarming rise in Maoist violence in that country has been a cause of great concern to Bharat as it will have adverse impact on our country too. We expect that the new dispensation will do everything in its power to crush the Maoist militancy. Any such effort by the Nepalese government must receive support from the international community. The threat by the Indian Left to launch an agitation here for restoration of democracy in Nepal is a big joke. Since when have the Leftists become so democracy-friendly? Why don'tthey launch a similar agitation for democracy in China or Tibet? What Nepal needs most at the moment is stability and the people of that country and their political parties are mature enough and the best judges to decide what course is good for them?monarchy or democracy,? he said.
