?Spiritual energy of the country has been the prime source of inspiration for the countrymen to emerge safe from the invasions that our culture and country has faced so far. Sant Gyaneshwar was one such source of spiritual energy,? said RSS Sarsangh-chalak, Shri K.S. Sudarshan while speaking at a function held to inaugurate the Pasaydan Kshetra, developed near the Vargaon Dam, about 40 km from Nagpur.

The Sarsanghchalak said that ups and downs in development of any country always continued. ?But the importance of the place that develops the initial energy for uplift has more significance. Spiritual uplift begins whenever there is any degradation of dharma. This was happening in our country but the situation changed due to the spiritual power generated by the advent of Lord Krishna and Lord Buddha. After that Shankara-charya saved the Hindu culture from destruction by encouraging spread of spiritual energy. If we look at the time of Sant Gyaneshwar, we find that he initiated the common man on the path of welfare by telling him the importance of devotion, knowledge and good deeds. He developed self-confidence among the people who were in the grip of superstitions. Today also we see the same situation in the society and the construction of Sant Gyaneshwar Pasaydan is quite a timely step. The idol of Sant Gyaneshwar installed here will generate people'sspiritual energy,? Shri Sudarshan said.

Commenting on the political scenario in the country, the Sarsanghchalak termed the recent arrest of Uma Bharti as unfortunate and asked whether singing of Vande Mataram was wrong. He said Muslims were being removed from the mainstream for political gains and separate reservation for them constituted a part of that conspiracy. ?This move will result in another Partition of the country.? He expressed concern over the negligence of temples. ?Nearly 80 per cent of the amounts donated in temples of southern states are being misused on maintenance of mosques and for the welfare of Haj pilgrims, whereas, over 50,000 temples of the country are today in a dilapidated condition,? he informed.

Commenting on the insult to martyr Veer Savarkar by Union Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyer, Shri Sudarshan said that just expressing displeasure on the act by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was not enough; the controversy would come to an end only after the plaque of Savarkar was reinstalled in the Andamans.
