A Rajasthan Administrative Service officer, Gopal Singh is joining Union Labour Minister, Sheesh Ram Ola as Officer on Special Duty. Veteran Congress leader Shri Ola, who is close to the Birla family, is an MP from Sikar.
Bharat Vir Wanchoo is the new Chief of the Special Protection Group. Wanchoo is a 1976 batch IPS officer from the West Bengal cadre. Although, apart from him there were five IPS officers—Vikram Srivastava (UP) 1973, R.R.P.N. Sahai (Bihar) 1973, K. Vijay Kumar (Tamil Nadu) 1975, Vijay Raman (MP) 1975 and Anirudh Uppal (HP) 1976, the PM has cleared Wanchoo'sname for the coveted post.
