Two recent devel-opments have set the tone for a prolonged and frontal confrontation between pseudo-secularists and nationalists. Prime Minis-ter'stotally unacceptable declaration about job reservations for ?minori-ties? and the sacking of four Governors on the pernicious ground that they belonged to the Sangh are minorityism'sevil manifestations.
The fascist Congress and the totalitarian Communists are bent upon dividing the society down the middle to serve their petty electoral interests. The nationalist forces led by the RSS and its ideological parivar will not let this happen. No sacrifice will be too big to checkmate the ruling combine'sevil designs. They will have to be met head on to frustrate their attempts to pamper the Muslims and hurt Hindu interests under the garb of empowering ?minorities?.
The Congress-led govern-ment had no qualms of conscience to induct into the government a minister belonging to the Muslim League?a party that demanded and forced the vivisection of the country?but can'ttolerate patriots trained and inspired by the RSS to continue as Governors. Vishnu Kant Shastri, Kedar Nath Sahini and Kailashpati Mishra are proud of their association with the RSS. All of them, like countless Swayamsevaks, learnt their first lessons in patriotism and service to the society in the Sangh. They proved it in 1980 when they chose to walk out of the Janata Party?a political dispensation they had built with their blood and soul?on the pain of disowning their RSS connection.

Union Home Minister, Shivraj Patil'sstatement that the Governors should belong to the same ideology as of the Union Government runs in the face of the Constitution. The Congress spokesman let the proverbial cat out of the bag by claiming that Governors with RSS background had been sacked. It exposed the Congress Party'santi-Hindu face. They target RSS and its Swayamsevaks?although they praise them in private?because they rightly perceive the Sangh as the voice and sword-arm of Hindu society. Their real target is the Hindu society, for, by dividing the Hindu society and humiliating it, they please the rabid mullahs and the Islamists.
Congress leaders? statements and actions have caused deep hurt to the Hindu society and outraged millions of Swayam-sevaks and Sangh sympathisers. The anti-Hindu combine will have to pay a heavy political price for its actions that are devoid of logic and morality.
Minorityism is the ideology of the ruling alliance. The latter wants to consolidate its hold on the Muslim vote bank. There is no other explanation for the government holding ?a dialogue on minority welfare and education? and converting it into a private affair of the Congress party. If the effort were to sincerely address educational problems of the minorities, the government would have invited leaders of all parties represented in Parliament, including the BJP and SP. By ignoring those with whom it had ideological and political differences and inviting only those that are close to the ruling dispensation, the govern-ment proved beyond a shadow of doubt that the objective was purely partisan.
The ruling dispensation'spurpose is not to uplift the minorities from the quagmire of illiteracy and social isolation; it is to strengthen its grip over the Muslim vote bank. What transpired at the dialogue is more disturbing. Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Naseem Ahmed, an IAS officer of Haryana cadre who claims to be a ?liberal and moderate? Muslim, made the preposterous demand that 75 per cent reservations for Muslims in the aided and unaided Muslim educational institutions shouldn'tinclude SCs, STs and OBCs belonging to non-Muslim communities. His argument: lack of education and social backwardness was more acute among Muslims. This provoked writer Javed Akhtar to say that such demands made him ?hang his head in shame? and added that it was extremely shameful to ask for reservations for Muslims and not to share it with non-Muslim SCs, STs and OBCs.
Naseem Ahmed made the reservation policy stand on its head. The founding fathers incorporated the concept of reservations for Scheduled Castes and Tribes in the Constitution on the ground that these communities had suffered isolation and backwardness because of the curse of untouchability that had crept into the Hindu society for centuries. Reservations were not provided for in the Constitution for Muslim and Christian communi-ties because these religions claim equality of all human beings. These religions don'taccept caste system and conceptually there is no discrimination against any section. Why should they get reservations in jobs? From reservation in jobs for minorities to separate electorate to ensure ?fair representation? of minorities in elected bodies will be a logical step for the ?secularists?. No nationalist can accept this obnoxious concept. The country paid a heavy price in 1947 for soft-peddling separatism. No nationalist will allow the ?secularists? to put the country on the road to yet another partition of the country.
