Free handicap camp by Bhaurao Deoras Nyas

?Services rendered by not thinking about oneself keeps one away from egoism,? said Vishnu Kant Shastri, the Uttar Pradesh Governor. He was speaking at the concluding ceremony for providing a free service to handicaps and free eye camp organised jointly by Bhaurao Deoras Seva Nyas and the Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India, at Lucknow.

In the camp, 35 handicapped persons were presented tricycles, six wheelchairs, nine calipers and 15 baisakhsi. A total of 25 children under the age of 5-15 years were given free spectacles. In addition, 50 patients suffering from cataract were given free spectacles. At the 50 health centres run by Bhaurao Devras Sewa Nyas about 55,505 patients have benefited between April 2003 to January 2004. During the year, 1,379 people’seyes were checked upon and 506 were operated. Lalji Tandon, former Urban Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh addressed at the concluding ceremony. Girish Gupta, regional Rehabilitation Incharge, Brahma Dev Sharma ?Bhai?, Dr Ishwar Chandra Gupta, president of the trust, Dr Devendra Pratap Singh, Secretary, Dr D.C. Rai, Mayor of Lucknow and other eminent personalities were also present on the occasion. (FOC)
