The man who will accompany Advani

Shri Prakash Javadekar, National Co-ordinator, Bharat Uday Yatra is one of the spokespersons of BJP. He spoke of the new responsibility given to him as the national co-ordinator of the Bharat Uday Yatra.

?My first priority would be to ensure a smooth and secure passage for the yatra. Secondly I would try for the larger participation of the masses. Thirdly I would communicate, as Advaniji has said to give new contents every day to attract the public so as to mobilise the people. Giving the detailed programme of the Yatra he said, ?The yatra is divided into two phases. In the first phase, it would start from Kanyakumari on March 10, 2004 and would end in Amritsar on March 26. The second phase would start on March 13, from Porbandar and would culminate in Puri on April 14. Party President would flag-off the yatra in Kanyakumari. The Prime Minister will address the Yatra at Amritsar and Lucknow.

There will be five small meetings and five large ones daily besides major public rallies in the evening at important places. In the two phases of the yatra, more than 400 public meetings would be held.

The Vehicle
Basically the vehicle is a Swaraj Mazda bus which is fitted with many useful things. There is a hydraulic lift for Advaniji to address the public on the roof of the bus. There is a public address system, emergency lights and specially arranged tent fitted on the roof of the bus to give protection from the scorching sun. Mobile phone, Fax, Internet and DVD are also there in the vehicle. A bed-cum-sofa is there, but night stays would be at stations. Packed food has been arranged for refreshments in the daytime.

The special bus is a well-equipped vehicle, where every type of modern com-munication facilities is available. There would be another vehicle besides the special one in which too communication facilities are fitted. News and photographs from different places would be immediately sent to the BJP Central Office. Literature and leaflets would be distributed to the public in the yatra route. Every day at 8.30 A.M. press conference would be held.

The safety and security
There would be a convoy for the special bus in which Advaniji will take his Bharat Uday Yatra. A full SPG security would take care of the bomb jammers, bomb-squads and all other related security matters. All types of precautions would be taken as far as security is concerned.

The Sarathis
There will be two drivers, Chetan Ram who used to travel with Shri Dilip Singh Judeo and Balbir Singh, who has travelled with Smt Vasundhara Raje.
