Teachers shape the future?Mohan Bhagwat

?THE nation has great expectations from teachers. They must realise their responsibility and contribute in shaping the future of the nation?, said the RSS Sarkaryavah, Mohanrao Bhagwat inaugurating the Central Office of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) in New Delhi.

He said the office and home are like temple for man. The atmosphere there should inspire those who visit them. Four walls do not make an organisation, until it imparts a lesson on performing duties in a disciplined manner and in a spirit of sacrifice. Till then it will not acquire the true character of an organisation. Teachers are the builders of coming generations. Hence, it is expected that they will understand and discharge their responsibilities, he said.

The Mahasangh organising secretary, Mukund Kulkarni claimed that the Mahasangh was the only teachers? organisation in the country that propagates that ?Education in the interest of the nation; teachers in the interest of students and their education and society in the interest of teachers. He averred that Communists who launched the teachers? movement before Independence never admitted that they have a role and duty. They always held the view that thinking of education was the duty of the Government. It is only after the advent of ABRSM that fresh air was injected into the teachers? movement and they started treading on a new path of Bharatiyatva and nationalism. At present the ABRSM has 35 teachers? organisations affiliated to it. The organisation has about eight lakh members all over the country.
