NEW DELHI: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust held an important meeting in Ayodhya on September 2, announcing a series of organisational appointments aimed at strengthening the management of the Ram Temple project.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has welcomed the changes, particularly the appointment of spiritual leader Govind Dev Giri as the Trust’s new General Secretary. VHP International President and senior advocate Alok Kumar congratulated Giri on taking charge, expressing confidence that his experience and leadership would provide guidance to the Trust.

The meeting also saw the appointment of Mahesh Bhagchandka as a trustee and treasurer of the Trust. According to the VHP, Bhagchandka has been associated with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement from its early stages and has continued to contribute to the cause of Hindutva through the Ashok Singhal Foundation.

The VHP said his experience and association with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement would be valuable in his new responsibilities within the Trust.

Madan Mohan Pandey joins Ram Temple Trust

Advocate Madan Mohan Pandey has also been appointed as a trustee.

Pandey was among the lawyers involved in the legal battle over the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. The VHP credited his contribution to the legal proceedings that ultimately resulted in the resolution of the case in favour of the construction of the Ram Temple.

The organisation said his legal experience would provide the Trust with an important judicial and legal perspective as it undertakes its responsibilities.

Nirmala Yadav appointed trustee

The Trust has also appointed Nirmala Yadav as a trustee.

Welcoming her inclusion, the VHP said the appointment would broaden representation within the Trust and described it as a recognition of the role of women in the Ram Temple project.

Alok Kumar said the participation of women in the work associated with the sacred land of Sita and Ram was important, adding that Yadav’s presence would bring greater sensitivity, perspective and inclusiveness to the Trust’s functioning.

Jitendra Mishra appointed CEO

In another significant decision, the Trust appointed Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra (Retd) as its Chief Executive Officer.

The VHP described Mishra as a senior, respected and experienced personality whose extensive professional experience would help make the Trust’s functioning more effective and transparent.

The appointment of a full-time CEO comes as the Trust continues to oversee the construction and broader development work associated with the Ram Temple project in Ayodhya.

The new appointments bring together experience from spiritual, legal, administrative and organisational backgrounds at a crucial stage of the temple project.

VHP welcomes new appointments

Welcoming the decisions, the VHP said the induction of experienced members would help the Trust complete the work associated with the grand Shri Ram Temple more efficiently.

The organisation expressed confidence that the new leadership would contribute to better management of the Trust’s responsibilities and help advance the broader development of Ayodhya.

Alok Kumar conveyed his best wishes to all the newly appointed members and said the VHP was confident that their collective experience would strengthen the Trust’s functioning.

The statement concluded with the VHP expressing hope that the work in Ayodhya would contribute to establishing the ideals associated with Ram Rajya.
