Rampur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on June 30 launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party and Congress, accusing them of hypocrisy over Bhagwan Ram and questioning their sudden show of devotion after previously opposing Ram bhakts.

Addressing a public rally after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 690 crore in Rampur, the Chief Minister said those who once ordered lathicharges on people chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ are now advocating ‘Ram Bhakti’.

“Those who used to lathi-charge people for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ are advocating for ‘Ram Bhakti’ today. Those who used to shoot bullets at Ram bhakts are talking about devotion towards Bhagwan Ram today. Congress, which had refused to believe in Bhagwan Ram and Bhagwan Krishna before 2017, are eager to visit Ayodhya today,” CM Yogi said.

He targeted the Congress party specifically, saying it had refused to believe in Lord Ram and Lord Krishna before 2017 but is now eager to visit Ayodhya.

“Congress, which had refused to believe in Bhagwan Ram and Bhagwan Krishna before 2017, are eager to visit Ayodhya today. Bhagwan Ram knows who is right and who is wrong. They are upset over how Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath have become so beautiful?… Now that they are not able to do anything, they are leaning on lies,” he added.

The Chief Minister asserted that development in Uttar Pradesh is now uniform and inclusive with no discrimination between districts.

“When it comes to development, there is no pick and choose now. If one district gets electricity, all 75 districts of the state will get electricity. Development will not stop now. No one can play with the lives of the youth. Today, no one can make objectionable comments against women in the state,” he said.

Chief Minister said the development projects would accelerate Rampur’s growth and strengthen the state’s vision of a developed Uttar Pradesh.

In a post on X, Adityanath said that the inauguration and foundation stone laying of 102 development projects worth more than Rs 690 crore in the Milak and Bilaspur Assembly constituencies would give “new momentum and a new direction” to Rampur’s development.

“Today, the development journey of Rampur district will gain new momentum and a new direction. In the Milak and Bilaspur assembly constituencies of Rampur, the inauguration/foundation stone laying of 102 development projects costing more than Rs 690 crore will be carried out,” CM Yogi said.

He further added, “It is with full confidence that these development-oriented projects, dedicated to public service, public convenience, and public welfare, will give new momentum to Rampur’s development, make public life more convenient, and provide new strength to the resolve of ‘Developed Uttar Pradesh’.”
