“Clearly it was a terror attack”, asserted Marco Rubio, United State Secretary of State, while speaking about the massive blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10. While speaking to the media after a meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on the sidelines of the G-7 Foreign Ministers’ meet in Canada, Secretary Rubio quoted the Red Fort Blast case as a “terrorist attack”.

Further, Rubio hailed New Delhi for its way of handling the massive crisis. He called out the government’s response and action to the crisis as “measured, cautious and professional”. He said Washington offered help to New Delhi in conducting the probe regarding the Red Fort blast case. However, India in itself is very efficient and capable of undertaking a sound investigation, in an extremely sensitive case concerning the national security of the country.

“Indians need to be commended, they have been measured, cautious and professional in how they are carrying out this investigation. They are doing a very good job in carrying out the investigations. We have offered help, but they are very capable in the investigation and they don’t need our help and they are doing a good job”, Marco Rubio added while praising India’s professional approach towards the Red Fort blast probe.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar appreciated the condolences of Marco Rubio towards the loss of lives in the Delhi Red Fort blast incident. On the sidelines of the G-7 Foreign Ministers’Meet, Dr. Jaishankar and his US counterpart Marco Rubio also discussed the prospects of India-US bilateral relations in the domain of trade, supply chain etc. “Exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict, the Middle East/West Asia situation and the Indo-Pacific”, Dr. Jaishankar wrote on his X social media platform.

Good to meet @SecRubio this morning at #G7 FMM.
