Dr. Mohanan Kunnummel, Vice Chancellor of Kerala University of Health Services and Vice Chancellor (in charge/officiating) of the Kerala University, said at Manvila, Tiruvananthapuram, that those who know their mother would sing Vande Mataram. Those who do not know it will not sing it.
Dr. Mohanan Kunnummel was addressing “Sankalp 2026” Yuva Sangamam, organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, at Manivila. He lit the traditional lamp before the Bharat Mata picture on the dais.
The Vice Chancellor said that both father and mother have the responsibility to bring up the children as ideal citizens. The mother holds more responsibility. Similarly, Bharat is the mother of all Bharatiyas. Vande Mataram is sung because Bharat is the mother. People are undergoing a lot of changes. Our state also will witness such changes. It is beyond any doubt.
Dr. Mohanann Kunnummel said that the children may decide what they want to study. He said that this country would stand with them in their endeavour to study.
RSS is organising Yuva Sangamams (youth gatherings) as part of its centenary celebrations in Dakshin Pranth, the southern organisational state consisting of Ernakulam-Kottayam-Idukki-Alappuzha-Pathanamthitta-Kollam-Tiruvananthapuram districts. They are scheduled for August 14, 15 and 16, 2026. They consist of patriotic song sessions, rallies, presentations, messages of Akhand Bharat, Bharat Mata Pooja and cultural programmes.
District and Taluk-level youth programmes are for the youths in the 18 to 28 age group. “Sankalp 2026” Yuva Sangamam in Manvila, Tiruvananthapuram and “Abhyuday 2026” in Ettumanoor, Kottayam are the notable programmes.
The Yuva Sangamam programmes in Dakshin Keralam have attracted hundreds of ‘Gen Z youths’. It appears to be a paradigm shift. Youths are getting inspired by the messages of nationalism and patriotism. They proved that they do not follow the direction of anti-nationalists and drug traffickers, but by patriotic national heroes and even unsung heroes.
