Delhi Shocker: Islamist doctor says “‘Allah’s Will’ after severing patient’s vein during gall bladder surgery

A Delhi woman faced the brunt of medical negligence during a routine gall bladder removal when an Islamist doctor allegedly cut her vein, leading to jaundice and a second corrective surgery, only for the doctor to dismiss the error as divine will and suggested that they settle the matter by offering her Rs 500-Rs 1000

NEW DELHI: In a case that has ignited widespread outrage across social media and medical circles, a woman from Delhi has accused doctors at Alvi Nursing Home in Loni, Ghaziabad, of gross medical negligence during her gall bladder surgery.

The incident has raised serious questions about accountability, ethical standards, and patient safety in smaller private healthcare facilities that often cater to economically weaker sections with promises of affordable treatment.

As per a widely circulated video, Noor Saba, a resident of Kardam Puri in Delhi’s Shahdara, underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal) at Alvi Nursing Home on February 17, 2026.

The surgery initially seemed uneventful. However, 15 to 20 days later, Saba developed serious post-operative complications. She returned to the same nursing home seeking help.

Doctors there diagnosed her with jaundice and admitted her for two days. According to Saba, the medical team could neither explain the cause of her jaundice nor improve her condition.

Dissatisfied and worsening, she sought a second opinion at another hospital. There, the different set of doctors, made a shocking discovery: a vein had been severed during the original surgery at Alvi Nursing Home.

This injury caused bile leakage, leading to jaundice and other complications. Saba had to undergo a second corrective surgery to repair the damaged vein, after which her health gradually stabilised.

Saba Noor got saved due to this second opinion and timely intervention.

Shocking Confrontation: “It’s Allah’s Will”

When Noor Saba returned to Alvi Nursing Home to demand accountability and answers, she was met with an astonishing response. Instead of owning up to any procedural error, Dr. Nadeem and his associates allegedly told her that the incident was “Allah’s will.”

When she confronted them further, pointing out that she could have lost her life due to the negligence, Dr Nadeem reportedly replied that even her death would have been “Allah’s will.”

In what many have described as an insult added to injury, the doctor allegedly offered her a paltry sum of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 to settle the matter quietly and move on.

Official Complaint and Denial

Refusing to accept the dismissive attitude, Saba filed a formal complaint with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) subsequently summoned Dr. Nadeem to provide his response.

According to available reports, the doctor has denied any negligence on his part or by the nursing home staff. Noor Saba is now pursuing compensation for the physical trauma, additional medical expenses, emotional distress, and loss of livelihood she suffered.

The harrowing account first gained public attention through a detailed interview on the you tube . It went massively viral after being shared on X by accounts like @MeghUpdates, sparking furious reactions from thousands of users.

Internet Erupts in Anger

Social media platforms lit up with condemnation. Users demanded strict action, including immediate registration of an FIR, suspension or revocation of Dr. Nadeem’s medical license, and a thorough investigation into Alvi Nursing Home’s practices.

Some notable reactions included: “Doctors like Nadeem are committing fraud and misleading patients. The administration should take immediate action by registering an FIR and revoking their licenses.”

“Too shocking. Hope his practicing license is cancelled for good.”

“Him going to jail is also Allah’s will.”

“Then the doctor Nadeem’s nerves should be cut down randomly for the sake of Allah’s will.”

Many also pointed to the irony of promotional videos from the nursing home, including one featuring Dr. Nadeem, where he highlights the facility’s commitment to providing affordable medical services to patients.

The Organiser cannot independently verify if this is the same Dr Nadeem who allegedly messed up the medical case of a patient named Noor Saba and almost caused her death.

The contrast with the alleged negligence and callous attitude has left many questioning the true cost of such “affordability.”

Medical Context and Broader Implications

Bile duct or vascular injuries during laparoscopic gall bladder surgery are known complications, but they are relatively rare when performed by experienced surgeons under standard protocols.

Prompt recognition and management of such injuries are critical. In Saba’s case, the alleged failure to identify the issue immediately, followed by the dismissive response, has led many medical observers to classify this as potential negligence rather than an unavoidable mishap.

This incident is not isolated. Similar cases of gall bladder surgery negligence have previously resulted in hefty compensations awarded by consumer courts across India, sometimes running into lakhs or crores, along with license actions in extreme cases.

The episode highlights systemic challenges in India’s healthcare ecosystem: inadequate regulation of smaller nursing homes, varying standards of surgical competence, poor post-operative follow-up, and a culture of denial when things go wrong. For patients from modest backgrounds who rely on local facilities for cost reasons, such incidents can be devastating both financially and physically.

As authorities investigate the complaint, key areas under scrutiny are likely to include surgical records, consent forms, post-operative notes, and the qualifications and experience of the operating team at Alvi Nursing Home.

Noor Saba’s courageous decision to speak out has resonated deeply, becoming a rallying point for demands for greater transparency, stricter oversight, and patient-centric reforms in medical practice. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that no medical procedure, no matter how common or “routine”, should ever come at the expense of basic accountability, empathy, or professional ethics.

Patient safety must remain paramount. Affordable care cannot and should not mean compromised care. The concerned authorities must act swiftly and decisively to deliver justice in this case and prevent recurrence.
