Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the “cruelty and betrayal of trust” shown towards devotees of Bhagwan Ayyappa should not be forgotten, as he addressed BJP workers in Keralam through the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazbooth’ (My booth is the strongest booth) audio bridge programme.
Interacting with party workers across the state, the Prime Minister emphasised the need for a “double-engine government” in Keralam, asserting that the “winds of change” had already begun to blow. He said the state now requires a government that would effectively implement the development projects initiated by the Centre.
According to him, the upcoming election is not merely about electing a new government, but about ushering in an entirely new system of governance.
Modi claimed that a favourable wave for the NDA was visible in Keralam and urged party workers to strengthen booth-level outreach. He asked them to adopt the mantra “My booth is the strongest booth” and ensure direct engagement with voters. He specifically instructed workers to visit every family in their respective booths at least three times before April 9 and interact personally with each voter.
The Prime Minister also called upon party workers to make people aware of what he described as the obstruction of central development schemes by the LDF and UDF fronts. He cited initiatives such as free ration distribution, housing projects and drinking water schemes, stating that these had not been fully realised in the state due to political interference. He urged voters to reconsider their long-standing support for the Congress and the Left, saying, “You gave 75 years to the Congress and the Communists. Give five years to the BJP, and we will show you a big difference.”
Highlighting concerns over unemployment, Modi said that many young people in Keralam are being forced to leave the country in search of opportunities. He assured that a BJP-led government would create new avenues in sectors such as tourism, information technology and startups. He reiterated that the party’s goal is to build a “developed Keralam.” The interaction reportedly saw participation from around four lakh people across the state, including youth, women, farmers, and members of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities, who posed questions to the Prime Minister. Additionally, 140 NDA candidates from Kerala took part in the programme from various locations.
Years of LDF and UDF misgovernance held Keralam back. The people are placing their trust in the BJP-NDA. Interacting with the Karyakartas during ‘Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot Samvaad.’ https://t.co/OSTQ84bh4i
