In a major expose of the despotic rule and political misdeeds of the Muhummad Yunus regime in Bangladesh, the Senior Assistant Coach Mohammad Salahuddin has asserted that the false claims and selfish deeds of the Yunus regime and its officials shattered the T20 World Cup aspiration of the young cricketers. Coach Mohammad Salahuddin reiterated that Asif Nazrul, who was the former Sports Advisor and was a close associate of the Chief Advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus, with his blatant and false claims drifted away the world cup dream of the young players.
Senior Assistant Coach Mohammad Salahuddin also exclaimed that two young cricketers suffered from depression and mental coma for a brief duration as they were unable to bear the fact that their T20 World Cup dream had been destroyed. However, the interim government decision to not allow Bangladeshi players play T20 World Cup on Indian soil citing security reasons was a false claim and was politically motivated rather than genuine security concerns, Coach Mohammad Salahuddin further exclaimed. This was the maiden time that the Bangladesh cricket team missed an opportunity to represent the country in the Men’s T20 World Cup.
The denial by Bangladesh to play the T20 World Cup on India soil was yet another flashpoint between the Muhummad Yunus regime in Dhaka and New Delhi. Since the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina regime and the takeover of Bangladesh by the Yunus administration, Dhaka was illicitly targeting India as its inclination towards Pakistan mounted. With respect to the controversy surrounding the T20 World Cup, Asif Nazrul, the former Sports Advisor and an associate of the Yunus regime asserted that Bangladesh will not participate in the T20 World Cup at the cost of the country’s dignity. It was said that the decision was taken based on the safety and well-being of the Bangladeshi players. The Yunus government had also banned the broadcast and promotion of IPL in the country.
Political reasons shattered the dream of young cricketers
“Personally, you completely finished a boy’s dream. I know that two of my players went into a kind of coma mentally for five days, completely lost. The fact that we were able to bring them back onto the field in this tournament is itself a big thing”, Coach Salahuddin said while explaining the mental state of young cricket players whose decades of dream has been destroyed due to political reasons. “Look, when a boy goes to play in a World Cup, he brings his dream, his 27-year-old dream, here. You destroy that dream in one second. Fine, if it’s a country’s decision taken for national reasons, they will sacrifice for the country. But if you talk about loss, I will talk only about personal loss,” Salahuddin further added.
Asif Nazrul accelerated a series of lies
Senior Assistant Coach Mohammad Salahuddin further explained how Asif Nazrul former Sports Advisor and a close aide of Muhammad Yunus took a U-turn with respect to the decision pertaining to Bangladesh representing the T20 World Cup. Mohammad Salahuddin initially claimed that it was the decision of Bangladesh interim government to not send players to India to play the T20 World Cup citing security reasons. However, later, Asif Nazrul took a sharp U-turn and reiterated that it was the collective decision of the Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) to not send players to India and boycott the World Cup.
This shows how Asif Nazrul stitched lies for various political reasons, said Senior Assistant Coach Mohammad Salahuddin while speaking to reporters in Dhaka. “He told such blatant lies. I myself am a teacher; teachers generally lie a bit less. That he would say such lies so openly, I honestly can’t even imagine it. How will I even show my face in front of the boys? He took such a U-turn. He is a teacher at Dhaka University. A person from the highest educational institution of my country telling such lies, we can’t accept this. How can we accept this? He said one thing earlier and later took a U-turn”, Coach Mohammad Salahuddin thus exposed the lies of Yunus regime and its officials for sheer political reasons, that cost and ruptured the dream of Bangladesh cricket players and also the long held bilateral relations between New Delhi and Dhaka.
