Nearly four months after violent clashes rocked Mundaka village near Firozpur Jhirka in August 2025, Nuh police have arrested the prime accused, Israar, who had been absconding since the incident. Israar had been absconding since the incident, which left at least 10 people injured and several shops and vehicles reduced to ashes.
The violence erupted on August 11–12, 2025 following what initially appeared to be a minor dispute over road parking but rapidly escalated into large-scale violence. According to police and eyewitness accounts, clashes broke out between members of two communities after a confrontation between a Hindu youth, Samay Singh Saini, and a Muslim youth over a vehicle blocking the road in Mundaka village.

As per the complaint lodged by Samay Singh Saini, he was returning to Mundaka village around 4:30 pm with tent material in a tractor for his grandfather’s turban ceremony. Near the Rajasthan border, a truck allegedly parked in the middle of the road blocked their way. Two youths, identified as Nassi and Lukman, were reportedly drinking alcohol inside the vehicle.
When Samay Singh asked them to move the truck, the situation quickly spiraled out of control. He alleged that Nassi became aggressive, abused him, and struck him on the head with a beer bottle. The assault triggered chaos in the area.
According to the complainant, several other accused named as Ramzan, Muharkhon, Rustam, Shamsher, Haroon, Subban, Ismail, Arshad, Kalu, Zubair, Yunus, Islam, Juhrudin, Umar, Sakrulla, Sahun, Karim, Safi, Subba, Yakub and Junaid were allegedly called from Hajipur village in Alwar district of Rajasthan. Samay Singh claimed they arrived armed with sticks and attacked him and his brothers, Chunni, Gopal and Bir Singh, who rushed to his aid. All reportedly sustained serious injuries.
What followed was widespread stone pelting and arson. Eyewitnesses and villagers reported that stones and glass bottles were hurled from rooftops of houses and shops for nearly one and a half hours. A motorcycle was set on fire, and multiple shops were torched as panic gripped the village.
One of the most serious allegations in the case is that announcements were made from a local mosque in the Firozpur Jhirka area, following which a large mob gathered at the spot. Samay Singh alleged that this announcement mobilised villagers, leading to the escalation of violence.
He further stated that the accused had been nurturing hostility against Hindus since the 2023 Nuh violence, when Muslim mobs allegedly attacked a Hindu religious procession an incident that had already placed the region under heightened security watch.
The Nuh Police said that they acted swiftly after receiving information about the violence. “As soon as the information was received, a team from the local police station and the in-charge reached the spot. The police took charge and controlled the situation. There was some traffic obstruction, which was promptly handled,” the police said in a statement.
After months on the run, the main accused, Israar, was finally arrested, marking a significant breakthrough in the case. Police sources said investigations are ongoing, and further arrests are likely as authorities continue to track down all those allegedly involved in the violence.
