Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai shared his views on various topics including on the two-years tenure of the state government at the ‘Danteshwari Dialogue’ organised as part of the ‘Panchjanya Conclave’ at Naya Raipur.
The CM on the occasion shared his views on various topics including development in Bastar and Surguja regions, Naxal eradication, industrial investment, women empowerment and new technology-based development model.
The CM during the program also informed about the government’s schemes and the roadmap of future.
Sharing his views on the women empowerment, CM Sai said that the Mahtari Vandan Yojna (scheme) of the state government has become the biggest medium of women empowerment under which a monthly honorarium of Rs 1000 is being provided to around 70 lakh women of the state.
The CM stressed that the scheme has brought positive changes in domestic needs and nutrition of families. He said that the scheme has also benefitted children’s education.
The CM informed that the state has also implemented a new industrial policy with a special emphasis on employment. He noted that the new policy includes attractive grants and a single window system.
Under the new policy, the government has made more than 250 ease of doing business reforms to attract investments in the state which has yielded fruitful results as the state has so far received investment proposals worth approximately of Rs 8 lakh crore, said the CM.
CM Sai emphasised that the new policy encourages new-generation industries such as Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), green tech and semiconductors. He informed that work is also underway to develop Nava Raipur as a hub of IT, semiconductor plants and AI data center parks.
A Balanced Model of Local Identity and Modern Opportunities
Speaking about the development in Bastar, the southernmost division of the state marred by red terrorism, CM Sai stated that Bastar’s development will be based on a balance between the preservation of local culture and incorporation of modern amenities.
The CM stated that special focus is being placed on agriculture, organic farming, irrigation, forest produce processing, local employment and tourism. He noted that the income of forest produce collectors is increasing due to the expansion of ‘Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojna’ and forest produce based processing.
CM Sai stated that Naxal victim’s visiting Delhi and expressing their views was a historic step which instilled a great sense of confidence among people of Bastar and exposed the true face of Maoist violence before the nation.
Strict action against conversion and emphasis on cultural protection
CM Sai on the occasion also spoke about the menace of conversion, stating that strict action is being taken continuously to stop conversion by inducement or force. He hinted that the government will also bring a law to tackle the issue and preparation for the same is already being made.
The CM noted that government has succeeded in rapidly improving the quality of education in tribal dominated regions like Surguja and Bastar by re-opening of schools, installation of mobile towers and rationalisation.
The CM also spoke about the welfare schemes being run in Naxal-affected areas, informing that people of the far-fledged regions are provided with facilities like water, electricity, roads under the Niyad Nellanar scheme. He added that residents of these regions are also being provided with Aadhar Card, Ayushman Card, Kisan Credit Card etc. under the scheme.
The CM noted that the state government have fulfilled most of the guarantees announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi which includes approval of around 18 lakh houses, better minimum support price for farmers, implementation of Mahtari Vnadan Yojna, transparency in recruitment examination, increased compensations for Tendu Patta collectors and decisive action against Maoist in the state.
