Constitution Day to be celebrated in J&K; Govt directs all institutions to do preamble reading on Nov 26

In a significant development marking J&K’s deeper integration with the Indian constitutional framework, the Union Territory will celebrate Constitution Day for the first time on November 26

Srinagar, Nov 21 (KNC): The J&K Government on November 21 issued detailed instructions for the celebration of Constitution Day also known as Samvidhan Divas to be observed across the Union Territory on November 26.

As per Circular No. 22-JK(GAD) of 2025, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the Government has directed that Preamble reading ceremonies be conducted at 11:00 a.m. sharp in all government offices, autonomous bodies, PSUs, and educational institutions across J&K.

Besides the Preamble reading, departments have been instructed to organise activities such as installation of interactive walls or digital screens, community murals, quizzes, open debates, documentary screenings, “Samvidhan Run for Rights,” lighting of government buildings, clean-up drives, exhibitions and webinars to promote constitutional values.

The circular further states that photographs and videos of the events must be uploaded on the website “constitution75.com”, while participants shall also access the MyGov portal for related updates.

The instructions have been issued to all Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Heads of Departments and Managing Directors of PSUs to ensure the celebrations are conducted in a uniform manner across their respective jurisdictions. (KNC)
