Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent; he is planted by foreign powers in India: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has come down heavily on Gaurav Gogoi and said that "There is an election in 2026, otherwise I would have taken tough actions. But if I take such action, they will call it an election issue. Otherwise, he would have been behind the bars based on all the evidence"

Guwahati: Congress MP and deputy LoP Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent. Big allegation by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Talking to reporters on the sideline of a program, CM Sarma said, “ Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent. He is purely a Pakistani agent. If he has guts, file a defamation case against me.” He further said that Gaurav Gogoi is a planted person by Pakistan and ISI. “ He is a planted person by Pakistan. I am saying this as the capacity of a CM.”

CM Sarma also said that he has full evidence with him and it is not an election agenda. There is full evidence to back his comments, he said. The CM also said that he has enough evidence to prove it and the day he will make it public people will get to know that the person is a Pakistani agent. He has been planted by foreign powers in India. I am saying all these with all the evidence. CM Sarma further said, “ There is election in 2026, otherwise I would have taken tough actions. But if I take such action they will call it an election issue. Otherwise he would have been behind the bars based on all the evidence.”

It should be mentioned that, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by Assam government to investigate Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and his British wife Elizabeth Colburn’s alleged link with a Pakistani national close to ISI, has submitted its report to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on September 10.

CM Sarma has revealed that the SIT report has unwreathed starling facts about the anti-India activities of Pakistani national Ali Tauqeer Sheikh and his associates. CM Sarma wrote, “ On 17th February, 2025 the Assam Cabinet constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the anti-India activities of one Pakistani national, Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, and his associates.

During the course of this exhaustive investigation, the SIT has unearthed startling facts which point towards a larger conspiracy aimed at undermining the sovereignty of our nation.”, the CM wrote in his social media handles.

Without naming Congress deputy LoP in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi and his British wife CM Sarma wrote, “The SIT has also established the involvement of a British national – who is also married to an Indian Member of Parliament –  in the larger nefarious activities of Ali Tauqeer Sheikh.”

CM Sarma mentioned that MP Gaurav Gogoi visited Pakistan as the interior ministry of the enemy nation facilitated him for his visits. He wrote, “Furthermore, the investigation also sheds light on how the Ministry of Interior, Govt of Pakistan facilitated the visit of an Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Assam in their country.”

The Assam Government will now examine the report of the SIT in detail and place it before the State Cabinet. Once the matter is discussed in the Cabinet, the information gathered during the enquiry will be made public, CM Sarma said.

The SIT team includes IGP Munna Prasad Gupta, DIG Pranab Jyoti Goswami, SP Rosy Kalita and ADCP Moitryee Deka. As of now, the political atmosphere in Assam is currently charged, with intense anticipation among the public for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report to be made public.
