The Telangana unit of Goseva Vibhag organised the award ceremony on “Scientific Knowledge in Environmental Protection through Cows” on Sunday at the Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology (KMIT), Narayanguda, Hyderabad. The event served as the concluding ceremony of a statewide competition aimed at promoting awareness of India’s native cattle breeds and traditional organic farming methods.
According to the organisers, the examination received an overwhelming response from across the state. In the first level, held at 1,255 centres across 35 districts, more than 4.11 lakh participants took part. The second-level district exams saw 16,240 participants at 757 locations. In the final state-level test conducted yesterday, 1,871 students competed, with 44 candidates shortlisted for interviews.
Among the toppers, Tallapalli Mani Teja, a Class 9 student of Greenwood School, Hanumakonda, secured the first prize and received a cash award of Rs1 lakh. Anugonda Sai Likhith Reddy from Bhashyam High School, Attapur, Hyderabad, won the second prize of Rs 50,000, while Tanugor Vennela, an Intermediate student from the Tribal Welfare School, Sudi Malla, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, bagged the third prize of Rs 25,000.
Union Minister for Coal G. Kishan Reddy and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the event as distinguished guests. Manjunath, Chief Information Officer of the National Health Mission (Telangana), and Madan Mohan, Joint Director of the School Education Department, were present as chief guests.

Addressing the gathering, Rasthriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dakshina Madhya Kshetra Pracharak Bharat Kumar emphasised the significance of India’s cow heritage, urging the youth to safeguard indigenous breeds and adopt organic farming to revitalise the nation’s agricultural wealth.

The programme was presided over by Dr Gummadavelli Srinivas. Other dignitaries present included B. Sunder Reddy, RSS Telangana Pranta Sanghachalak, Raghavan, Akhil Bharatiya Goseva Prashikshan Pramukh, and Lingam Sridhar, RSS Telangana Pranta Pracharak.
More than 4,000 students and parents participated in the event. Students from Shri Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Shraddhanagar, presented ghosh renditions and cultural performances, lending a festive atmosphere to the academic gathering.
The state-level examination was coordinated by Dr A.V. Krishna Prasad, along with Yadunandan Ji, Bairu Venugopal, Raj Purohit Kailash Singh, and other dedicated volunteers.
