RSS Ban Row | Don’t stage fake calls and play hypocritical drama: Renukacharya hits back at Priyank Kharge

BJP leader MP Renukacharya slammed Minister Priyank Kharge for politicizing the RSS, calling his life-threat claims “fabricated” and hypocritical. He accused Kharge of denigrating Hindu nationalist organizations for political gain, neglecting development, and warned Congress against maligning patriotic groups, asserting such attacks will no longer be tolerated

Davangere: Senior BJP leader and former minister MP Renukacharya has strongly condemned Minister Priyank Kharge for allegedly politicising the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and creating a fabricated life-threat issue to gain political mileage. Addressing a gathering in Davangere, Renukacharya accused Kharge of playing a “hypocritical drama” he through his supporters making false threatening calls to himself and warned him against making baseless allegations against nationalist organizations.

Renukacharya alleged that Kharge, instead of focusing on the development of his constituency, is attempting to turn the Gulbarga region into a “goon state,” drawing parallels with the so-called law-and-order failures in Kalaburagi. “Priyank Kharge is creating problems where there are none. He has a culture of fear-mongering and wants to tarnish the image of organizations like the RSS,” Renukacharya said.

He further criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly allowing his son, Priyank Kharge, to interfere in administrative matters. “CM Siddaramaiah’s interference in offices because Priyank is his son is unacceptable. The RSS works at personal risk during crises, and it is shameful to talk lightly about their service,” he said.

Renukacharya also took aim at Congress leaders including Dinesh Gundurao, Hariprasad, and Lad, accusing them of protecting anti-national organizations like PFI and SDPI while remaining silent on incidents such as schools being converted into mosques in certain constituencies. “While the RSS raises slogans for the nation, your government’s tenure is temporary, and you are busy diverting attention by attacking patriotic organisations,” he said.

He questioned Priyank Kharge’s credentials and background in social service and nationalist movements. “Apart from following power politics, Kharge has no record of serving nationalist or social organizations. He has never condemned Muslim fundamentalist groups or anti-national activities but targets Hindu organizations to denigrate Hinduism,” Renukacharya stated.

Highlighting historical context, Renukacharya urged Kharge to acknowledge his family history and the resilience of his father against the Razakar attacks, contrasting it with Kharge’s alleged bias against the RSS. “Kharge has made it his life’s mission to criticize and malign the RSS and other patriotic organizations, not to protect the nation,” he added.

Renukacharya warned that Congress’ main agenda appears to be opposing Hinduism and undermining nationalist organizations to serve its political interests. “Priyank Kharge is busy raising a banner against RSS and patriotic forces to please his high command, but this will not go unchallenged,” he said, asserting that any future attempts to malign nationalist organizations would not be tolerated.

This fiery condemnation reflects ongoing tensions between Congress leaders and nationalist organizations in Karnataka, with Renukacharya positioning himself as a staunch defender of the RSS and patriotic groups while calling out political opportunism.

BJP Chief Vijayendra asked Kharge to show an example of his involvement in patriotic organisation

The political row over Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge’s demand to ban Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activities in government institutions has intensified, with BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra launching a blistering attack on Kharge’s ideological stance and political legacy. In a strongly worded statement, Vijayendra accused Kharge of harboring hostility towards Hinduism and questioned his commitment to nationalist causes.

Vijayendra challenged Kharge to publicly disclose any past association with nationalist organizations, stating, “Apart from the power-creation factory called Congress, what nationalist organization have you ever served?” He further demanded evidence of Kharge’s condemnation of communal violence and terrorism perpetrated by Muslim fundamentalist groups, alleging selective criticism aimed only at Hindu organisations.

The BJP leader also invoked historical references, questioning Kharge’s silence on the atrocities committed by the Razakars during the Hyderabad liberation struggle. “Your revered father survived the Razakar attacks. Yet you have never criticised their legacy. Instead, you represent a party that nurtures such ideologies,” Vijayendra said, referring to Kharge’s father and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Vijayendra accused Priyank Kharge of using his position to malign the RSS and Hindu nationalist movements for political gain. “Your intention is not to criticise RSS, but to disparage Hinduism itself. You have forgotten the roots of our civilization and now compete to please your high command by attacking nationalist organizations,” he alleged.
