Bangkok, Thailand: The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh on October 2 completed 100 years of its journey. In the last 100 years it has been relentlessly and tirelessly engaged in national service.
On this occasion, The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) Thailand brought together families, youth, and community members for the Vijayadashami Utsav 2025 and Sanchalan, held on October 5 at Dev Mandir, Hindu Samaj, Bangkok.

The event, filled with devotion, discipline, and cultural pride, celebrated not only the spirit of Vijayadashami but also marked 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), an organisation that continues to inspire generations through service and values.

The Vijayadashami Utsav featured a path sanchalan led by the Sangh Ghosh, followed by cultural performances, traditional prayers, and baudhik. The event was graced by the presence of Susheel Kumar Dhanuka, HSS Bangkok Mahanagar Sanghachalak, and Naveen Sharma, HSS Thailand Sanghachalak. It was further graced by Hon. Brahm Bhism Ji from Vamadevamuni Devasthan Bosth Brahman, Bangkok, as the Chief Guest; Dr. Ramnivas Ji, Sangh Pracharak and esteemed scholar of Hindu and Bauddha Dharma Samanvya, as the keynote speaker; and Shri Susheel Kumar Saraf, VHP Global Vice President, as a distinguished guest.

In their addresses, both guests emphasised the importance of preserving heritage while adapting to the modern world. The atmosphere at Dev Mandir was vibrant with families, children, and youth participating enthusiastically, a reflection of HSS Thailand’s growing impact in fostering cultural pride and unity within the Indian diaspora.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Thailand plays an important role in nurturing the values of Sewa (Service), Sanskar (Values), and Sanghatan (Unity). These three guiding principles shape every initiative, from cultural education to community service.

At the heart of its activities are weekly shakhas (community gatherings), where participants engage in physical fitness, Sanskrit prayers, moral discussions, and team-building exercises. These gatherings help develop leadership skills and cultural understanding, especially among children and youth growing up in Thailand.

Beyond routine activities, HSS Thailand actively celebrates Hindu festivals such as Diwali, Navratri, and Holi, while also organizing seva (service) initiatives including tree planting, blood donation drives, and social outreach, showing that true spirituality lies in service to others.

A Bridge Between Cultures
Thailand’s cultural landscape is deeply influenced by Hindu traditions, from temple architecture to royal ceremonies and art. HSS Thailand helps strengthen these cultural bridges, allowing the Indian community to celebrate their faith while engaging respectfully with Thai society.

As Thailand continues to embrace diversity, HSS Thailand stands as a reminder that faith and culture can unite rather than divide. Through HSS chapters worldwide, including Thailand, this legacy continues to inspire new generations to live with purpose, discipline, and compassion. The Vijayadashami Utsav 2025 beautifully reflected that enduring spirit, proving that even far from home, traditions can thrive, evolve, and bring communities together.
