Guwahati: Large scale deportation of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators is taking place from Assam. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on August 30 that pushback of intruders is taking place in two fronts in the state. Illegal intruders who are residing within the state and under the immigrant expulsion act the state government is empowered to deport any foreigner who is coming to Assam post 1971. Secondly the current poles of infiltrators are being apprehended and pushed back immediately by security forces. “ Yesterday also we deported 33 infiltrators. Push back will continue and will be on two fronts”, the CM said.

Reacting on Arshad Madani’s comment on him CM Sarma said that Jamiat has always a say on Congress decisions. They can give and cancel anyone’s ticket to the Congress party. Earlier Arshad Madani said that he insisted Sonia Gandhi not to give candidatures to Himanta Biswa Sarma as Madani feels Sarma was inclined towards RSS despite being in Congress party.

CM Sarma said Jamiat Ulema e Hind and Madani always tries to make Assam weak and do notorious things. When we tried to prevent their conspiracy they made us an enemy. Now they are exposed and nobody in Assam listens to them. There was a time when they had big statures but after BJP came into power Madani became zero from hero. He further said that Madani would always oppose BJP but in the last one month a lot of these types of people are visiting Assam. Apart from Harsh Mander, Syeda Hameed, Prashant Bhushan a section of people who were involved in Shaheen Bagh during anti-CAA protest are visiting Assam. Those gangs are coming to Assam now regularly.

They are trying to recreate the Shaheen Bagh type situation in Assam taking the ongoing eviction drives as a reason. But the government is firm that our commitment to the people of Assam will not stop despite all these challenges including revaluation of NRC, continuing the eviction drives and some other long time agendas against the thoughts of people like Madani. The aim of making Assam a radical Islamic state is the thinking of people like Madani and we will work against it. In Assam they can’t make the BJP weak, it will come more and more stronger in coming elections, but their intention is to make Assam weak and we won’t allow it, the CM said.
