In a stirring display of devotion to Bhagwan Ram, one thousand children from all fourteen districts of Kerala gathered under one roof to render the Ramayana, bringing its timeless message of dharma to life for the audience. The event, held on August 12, titled Sreerama Rajyam was organised by the Sanatana Dharma Patashala, Vattoli, Kozhikode, and drew parents and well-wishers from across the state
The recital was hosted at the auditorium of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP Yogam), the community organisation of Hindu Ezhavas founded by the revered spiritual leader and social reformer Sree Narayana Gurudev.
Seventy-eight Gurus had been training the children over the last five months. Children from different age groups recited the Ramayana from Balakandam to Yudhakandam during the morning session.
A cultural and musical session was held after the lunch break, followed by bhajans, dance dramas, classical dances, and more.
This mega Ramayana event was inaugurated by retired district judge Sundaran Govind. Rajesh Nadapuram, a Sanatana Dharma Patashala teacher and well-known scholar of Sanatana Dharma, presided. Manikkan Radhakrishnan, who donated 20 cents of land to Sanatana Dharma Patashala in Thrissur, and Sanatanam Counselling member Dr Anoop Vaikkom also addressed the gathering.
Sanatana Dharma Patashala has been working for several years to impart the values of Sanatana Dharma to children. It provides platforms for them to express and exhibit the knowledge they acquire from Dharmic classes. The Mega Ramayana programme was one such event.
