Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech from the Red Fort resonated a stern warning to Pakistan over its repeated ‘nuclear blackmails’. PM Modi sent a strong and direct message to Islamabad by exclaiming that India will not bow down to such insane and irresponsible nuclear threats.
Prime Minister’s sharp response comes amidst recurring ‘nuclear threat’ stunts posed by Pakistan in an attempt to threaten and frighten India. Recently Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other leaders have been intimidating India to fully restore the Indus Water Treaty, if not Pakistan will victimize India with nuclear explosions.
“India will no longer tolerate the nuclear blackmail. If the enemy dares to commit anymore misadventure, the Indian armed forces will give them a befitting reply”, PM Modi asserted during the 79th Independence Day speech.
Indus Water Treaty is ‘Unjust’
In a befitting reply to Pakistan, PM Modi asserted that the Indus Water Treaty is ‘unjust’ and ‘one-sided’ He reemphasized on his earlier message that ‘blood and water will not flow together’. Indus Water treaty was signed between India and Pakistan in 1960 as a trans-border river sharing agreement. However, India has kept the treaty in ‘abeyance’ in the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attack.
“What kind of agreement was this that has caused such unimaginable loss to our farmers for the past seven decades? Only India has the right to its rightful share of water”, PM Modi reiterated the misdeed in the Indus treaty, as only 20% of the water from the east flowing rivers of the Indus basin and its tributaries were allocated to India and remaining 80% from the west flowing rivers went to Pakistan.

Prime Minister’s sharp statement is a direct response to Pakistan. Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had uttered, “if India tried to snatch even one drop of Pakistan”, it would be “taught such a lesson that you will be left holding your years”. The Army Chief of Asim Munir had also uttered insane comments from the American soil regarding posing nuclear threats to India. “We are a nuclear nation, if we think we are going down, we will take half the world down with us”, Munir had said. “We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, we will destroy it with 10 missiles”, the Pakistani Army Chief said referring to the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty.
However, India will not accede to such irresponsible blackmails. From the ramparts of Red Fort, Prime Minister has once again echoed the strong resolve and commitment to protect India’s sovereignty, national security and strategic autonomy.
