Kapil Sharma Cafe in Canada attacked for the second time in a month; Lawrence Bishnoi claims responsibility

Comedian Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada, was targeted once again on August 7, with shots fired at the establishment, marking the second such incident in less than a month. A man identifying himself as gangster Goldy Dhillon, who claims affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has taken responsibility for the attack.

In an online post, Dhillon wrote:”Jai Shree Ram. Sat Shree Akaal, Ram Ram to all brothers. The firing that occurred today at Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey was carried out by me, Goldy Dhillon, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. We tried calling him [the intended target], but he didn’t respond, so we had to take action. If he still doesn’t answer, our next move will be made in Mumbai soon.”

Authorities are investigating the incident, and no injuries have been reported at this time. A video of the incident has gone viral online, appearing to show multiple gunshots being fired from a moving vehicle near the cafe.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has confirmed the incident and issued a statement assuring the public that an investigation is underway.

“At approximately 4:40 a.m. on August 7, SPS Frontline officers responded to reports of shots fired outside a business located in the 8400 block of 120 Street,” the statement said. “This same business was targeted in a similar incident on July 10. Multiple SPS units, along with support from the Delta Police Department, responded to the scene. While several shots were fired, causing damage to the building and windows, thankfully no staff members present at the time were injured.”

This second attack comes just days after Kap’s Cafe hosted a community lunch for Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke and members of the police service, aimed at promoting safety and unity.

A glimpse of the event was shared on Instagram, where Kapil Sharma expressed his gratitude for the support. “United we stand against violence. We’re truly grateful,” the post read.

The newly opened eatery was previously attacked late on the night of July 9. At that time, Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi claimed responsibility for the shooting. Laddi, who is on the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most-wanted list, is associated with the banned extremist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
