The Shiksha Samskriti Utthan Nyas is set to organise a four-day educational conclave—Jnanasabha and Chinthan Baithak—in Kochi from July 25 to 28, 2025. The details were announced by Dr Atul Kothari, National General Secretary of the organisation, at a press conference held on July 24 in Kochi. The event will be marked by the special presence of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak, Dr Mohan Bhagwat.
The Chinthan Baithak will take place from July 25 to 27 at Aadi Sankara Nilayam, Peppathy in Ernakulam district, the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya. The first two days will feature a National Chinthan Baithak, where Dr Bhagwat is expected to offer guidance during extensive discussions on both short-term and long-term organisational plans and educational goals.
A public event on the theme “Bhartiyata in Education” has been proposed as part of the four-day programme, where Dr Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to deliver a keynote lecture. The Honourable Governor of Kerala, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, will also grace the occasion. In addition, several eminent academicians and distinguished personalities from Kerala are expected to participate.
On 28 July, a National Educational Conclave will be organised on the theme “Education for a Developed Bharat”. Speaking to the media, Dr Atul Kothari confirmed that Professor T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Professor Deepak Srivastava, Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), will be among the key dignitaries attending the conclave.
Prominent national-level spiritual and educational institutions such as the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Institute, Gayatri Parivar, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Art of Living, and S-VYASA will also be represented. Vice Chancellors of various universities, directors of central institutions, and Education Ministers and Secretaries from Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Puducherry are also scheduled to participate in the event.
The main agenda of the four-day meeting includes:
Organisational Planning: A review of the Nyas’s ongoing nationwide activities and deliberation on a five-year strategic roadmap.
Revival of Bharatiya Education: Identifying Bharatiya knowledge elements in education and integrating them into institutional frameworks.
From Gyanotsav to Gyan Mahakumbh: Assessment of ongoing campaigns aimed at awakening a new educational consciousness, and charting future strategies.
Bhartiyata in Education (27 July): Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s address to Kerala’s educationists and prominent citizens, focused on instilling Bharatiya values in education.
Seminar on 27 July, 2:00 PM: A special session with Kerala’s leading educationists to discuss measures to improve the quality of education in the state.
National Conference – “Gyan Sabha” (28 July): Themed “Education for a Developed Bharat”, the conference will bring together educationists, policymakers, and institutional leaders from across India.
Celebration of Key Days: Review and planning for the national observance of four significant days: 2 July (Nyas Foundation Day), 14 September (Hindi Day), 22 December (National Mathematics Day), and 21 February (International Mother Language Day).
Dr Kothari emphasised that education forms the foundation of any nation. When Bharat was revered as a “Vishwaguru” (guiding light of the world), its education system was exemplary. Students from across the globe came to study at ancient Bharatiya centres of learning such as Nalanda and Takshashila. Reviving that tradition is essential to once again make Bharat strong, capable, and prosperous.
A. Vinod, National Convenor of the Nyas, stated during the press briefing that the organisation has been committed since its inception to rejuvenating Bharatiya education by integrating traditional knowledge systems with modern educational requirements. With this vision, the National Educational Conclave on “Education for a Developed Bharat” has been planned for 28 July.
At the conclave, leading educational institutions from across the country will present innovative practices focused on:
- Bharatiya Knowledge Systems
- Bharatiya Languages
- Bharatiya Mathematics
- Skill Development
- Character Building
- Personality Development
Highlighting the importance of Bharatiya knowledge systems, Vinod remarked, “The objective of education in Bharat was not merely livelihood, but the shaping of a complete human being.”
Speaking about the Gyan Sabha, Rajeshwar Parashar, National Co-Convenor of the Nyas, stated: “The resolutions passed during the conference will give rise to a nationwide movement, gathering public suggestions through widespread community discussions.”
A detailed review will also be undertaken on the “One Nation, One Name: Bharat” campaign, examining its progress, social impact, and future course. Parashar stressed, “This is not just about a name, but about cultural awakening and liberation from colonial mindsets.”
A nationwide signature campaign is already underway to support this cause. Additionally, the highly successful Gyan Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj will be reviewed. Owing to its remarkable impact, the Nyas has received invitations to organise similar Gyan Mahakumbhs in 2027 and 2028.
Shiksha Samskriti Utthan Nyas, inspired by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was established on 24 May 2007 with the aim of giving Bharatiya education a new direction rooted in cultural values and national pride.
