Popular travel vlogger and YouTuber Passenger Paramvir, known for his candid travel vlogs from around the globe, is now making headlines for a troubling incident during his recent trip to Kazakhstan. Paramvir and his friend Shakti allegedly experienced racism from a local resident while sightseeing in the country.

Muslims from some Islamic countries harbour intense hatred toward non Muslims.

In a 55-minute vlog posted on YouTube, Paramvir documents his journey through Kazakhstan, exploring destinations like Kolsay, Kaindy, and Charyn Canyon. Around the 46-minute mark, he recounts a disturbing encounter near Kaindy Lake, where his friend Shakti was reportedly mistreated by a local, sparking concerns about racial discrimination.

According to Paramvir, the incident took place near Kaindy Lake, where his friend Shakti was approached by a local photographer who typically takes photos of tourists and sells them as Polaroid prints. Upon noticing Shakti wearing a sacred kada and kalava on his wrist, the photographer asked if he was Muslim. When Shakti replied that he was Hindu, the photographer allegedly responded with derogatory gestures and inappropriate comments, pointing toward his groin and pants.

Shocked and angered by the disrespectful behaviour, Shakti and Paramvir chose not to escalate the situation and quietly returned to their vehicle.

Paramvir later shared another troubling incident that occurred just days before the Kaindy Lake episode. Reflecting on his overall experience in Kazakhstan, he said, “I’ve been in this country for over a week now, and I’ve come to realise that there is a clear bias against Indians, especially Hindus.” He went on to add, “In all my travels across 120 countries, I’ve never encountered racism—until now. Just a couple of days ago, a Russian taxi driver began yelling in Russian, asking how we got into his taxi and saying that Indians were not allowed to sit in it. Although we didn’t understand the language, our Russian co-passenger translated everything for us.”

The vlogger’s experiences have sparked concern among his followers, raising questions about racial prejudice in popular travel destinations.
