Under the leadership of the prime minister, the state secured two Guinness World Records. A phenomenal 303,654 individuals practiced yoga together at a single location along RK Beach, shattering the previous record. In another awe-inspiring feat, over 22,000 tribal students synchronously performed 108 Surya Namaskars in just 108 minutes at one venue, securing a second Guinness World Record for the state.

AIMS Mohali sets Asia record with largest Yoga session by healthcare professionals

In a powerful demonstration of health and harmony, AIMS Mohali, Punjab, earned a new Asia Book of Records title on June 21, 2025, for organizing the largest ever yoga session specifically for healthcare professionals. The overwhelming participation from medical staff underscored the increasing integration of yoga within the healthcare community, highlighting its profound benefits for well-being and stress relief among front-line workers.

Gujarat claims Guinness Record with massive Bhujangasana session on Yoga Day

On June 21, 2025, thousands across Gujarat enthusiastically participated in International Yoga Day celebrations held at public parks and heritage sites. While mass yoga sessions promoted health, mindfulness, and unity across several cities, Vadnagar achieved a remarkable milestone. In a synchronized session at Vadnagar’s Sharmistha Lake, more than 2,121 participants collectively performed Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), earning a coveted spot in the Guinness World Records.

Kurukshetra’s Brahma Sarovar witnessed record-breaking Yoga session with one lakh participants

The sacred Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra, Haryana, became the epicenter of a historic event on June 21, 2025, for the 11th International Day of Yoga. Approximately one lakh (100,000) participants, including 40,000 schoolchildren, performed synchronized asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Led by Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev and attended by the Chief Minister of Haryana, this colossal gathering aimed to set a world record for the largest yoga assembly at a single venue, demonstrating immense collective spirit.

NTR district creates world record with pioneering floating yoga on Krishna river

Making history on June 11, 2025, the NTR District administration in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, organized a groundbreaking massive floating yoga session as part of its “Yogandhra” campaign. Nearly 1,000 participants synchronised their yoga practice on an array of 200 watercraft – including kayaks, jet skis, punts, and speed boats – on the Krishna River near Berm Park. The World Records Union officially recognized this innovative event as a new world record for the largest yoga on water demonstration.

KGMU aims for world record with sunrise ‘Surya Namaskar Mudra’ on International Yoga Day

On June 21, 2025, King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, hosted a spectacular mass Yoga Day event.
