On May 18, the Indian Army released a new video showcasing Operation Sindoor, the retaliatory offensive launched in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Shared by the Army’s Western Command on X, the post was captioned: “Enemy Missiles neutralised… #IndianArmy – impregnable wall of fire.”

The video features dramatic visuals of Pakistani missiles being destroyed, along with the interception of drones and Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs). The footage also highlights the deployment of the S-400 surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, which played a key role in neutralising aerial threats.

The Indian Army shared a video showcasing a successful defensive action, accompanied by the caption: “Missed their targets by miles. Debris in agricultural farms.” They further emphasised the strength of the operation with the words: “Ruthless Precision. Raw Power. Fierce Pride.”

Amid rising tensions following India’s airstrikes on nine terrorist targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK), a ceasefire was brokered between the two nations on May 10.

India confirmed that trade with Pakistan would remain suspended and the implementation of the Indus Water Treaty would be paused. Earlier today, the Indian Army stated that the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan is still in effect and clarified that there is no set expiry date for the “continuation of the break in hostilities.”

On May 7, India initiated Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror-linked sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The operation was a direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred in J&K last month, in which 26 people lost their lives, including civilians and tourists. The attack took place near a busy tourist route and involved a sudden ambush by heavily armed militants. It marked one of the deadliest incidents in the region in recent times and prompted heightened security measures. In the aftermath, Indian security forces intensified their counter-terror operations across J&K.

The airstrikes resulted in the deaths of at least 10 family members of JeM chief Masood Azhar and four of his close aides. The targeted sites included key Pakistani military bases such as Rafiqui (Shorkot, Jhang), Murid (Chakwal), Nur Khan (Chaklala, Rawalpindi), Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian (Kasur). The strikes also caused significant damage to airbases in Skardu, Bholari, Jacobabad, and Sargodha.
